FIGHT! FIGHT FOR YOUR LOVE STORY!

“The great plan of happiness reveled to prophets is a plan for a happy family. It is the LOVE STORY between husband and wife, parents and children that renews it’s self through the ages. Nothing is more important to the church and to civilization than the family.” President Packer

On September 21, 1823, when Joseph Smith was only 17, the angel Moroni taught him, placed at the beginning of the Doctrine & Covenants; essentially is the first principle (as the first section is an introduction):

1 BEHOLD, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
2 And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers.
3 If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming.
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 2:1 - 3)

We are in the times where we need to preserve our families against the resounding evil around us. We need to clearly keep our focus on the blessings of eternal life. It is our responsibility!

We have the responsibility to FIGHT, FIGHT to preserve our family! Be intentional; YOU can not let it happen by happen stance!

I love President Packer’s reference to a love story. What a great image he places in my mind. Enjoy/Preserve your love story; whether it be with your husband or your children. FIGHT to preserve your LOVE STORY! Taken from Sister Julie B. Beck's 2009 talk at BYU Womens Conference.
