As we deliver a talk in church, give a lesson, work with our families, make a serious decision, consider making a major purchase, fulfill our church calling, etc., we often hear the phrase, "let the Spirit guide you." It's not always easy to follow this admonition or live our lives in such a way that we will be receptive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the scriptures we are told exactly why this is difficult for us and exactly what to do to overcome the difficulty.
In Mosiah 3:19 we are told, "For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, UNLESS he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.
There it is, applying this scripture to our lives will allow us to be guided by the Spirit, always!
Love, Kathi
