Helaman 14:30 And now remember, remember, my brethren, that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself; for behold, ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves; for behold, God hath given unto you a knowledge and he hath made you free.
Every day we have choices to make - and many can hold important consequences. Alma tells of the lack of freedom we will have if we do not follow God's commands...
Alma 30:60 And thus we see the end of him who perverteth the ways of the Lord; and thus we see that the devil will not support his children at the last day, but doth speedily drag them down to hell.
And Alma also discusses our rewards when we obey Heavenly Father's commandments:
Alma 36:3 ...for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.
It is so important to study our scriptures daily, to really feast on what Heavenly Father is trying to tell us. When we make wise choices, while some may say they are restrictive, we have only to look to our scriptures to know that we have an eternal reward waiting for us. What can be freer than that?
