WHO WE ARE

1 Peter 2:9-10 (9) "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye shoud shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: (10) Which in time past were not a people, but are now a people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but have now obtained mercy."

If you hold membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, this scripture applies directly to you. Peter is not talking about an obscure group of people somewhere that will one day become the "chosen generation." He is talking about us and we have a great responsibility to live in such a way to deserve this marvelous blessing bestowed upon us. However, think of all the ways He is helping us. He has given us scriptures to guide us daily, a prophet to advise us continually, a temple to fortify us, local leaders to lean upon, the list goes on and on.

How grateful I am to be among the "holy," the "peculiar," the "royalty," the "chosen."
