Prayer, A small and simple thing ...

By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Alma 37:6
A small and simple practice that can bring great things to pass is PRAYER!

You must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul. 2 Nephi 32:9

Prayer rests on the principle of faith. We have faith in the doctrine that we are children of our Heavenly Father. When we understand that God is our father and we are his children then prayer becomes natural and instinctive.

Prayer is an expression of agency. Earnest, sincere, heartfelt prayer is a deeply personal choice. No one can force us to reach out with all of our hearts. No one can compel us to feel after our maker. I love the expresses a heart felt desire to pray. Isaiah 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Our small and simple choice to pray allows God to unlock the powers of heaven in our behalf. The Holy Ghost is free to fill our minds and hearts leading us towards him and our eternal destiny.
