FORGIVE

One of the most difficult things we are ever asked by the Savior to do is to forgive someone who has wronged you. I was watching an old re-run of the television show "TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL" the other day. In this episode, five little children of a skilled heart surgeon were killed by a drunken driver. Then, as circumstances would have it, this surgeon was forced to operate on the drunken driver and give him a heart transplant. The stuggle the surgeon went through was inconceivable. As it turned out, he found the strength to forgive the drunken driver, he performed the operation successfully, and his entire "bitter" life was transformed. The drunken driver, in turn, saved the life of someone else who could not find it in her heart to forgive him for his act by pushing her out of the way of a speeding car. The episode demonstrated that we MUST forgive others' trespasses against us. We do not know the Saviors intent for the person who has wronged us.

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses your heavenly Father will also forgive you; But if ye forgive not men their trespasses neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (3 Nephi 13:14-15)
