D&C 82:17 And you are to be equal, or in other words, you are to have equal claims on the properties, for the benefit of managing the concerns of your stewardships, every man according to his wants and his needs, inasmuch as his wants are just...
The course and duty are clear. Our Lord has called upon his saints to care for the poor and needy. Ours is not to judge others, but to "lighten the load of others, mourn with those that morn, succor the week, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees... all of this (and more) through the sharing of our substance, whether temporal or spiritual. "this is essential to our spiritual growth and welling-being in the kingdom of God. This is not an occasional undertaking. So long as there are others 'in need', our duty remains, one in which we are ever watchful of others.
This was a good reminder to me, that in order to be true to our faith, we must be ever so diligent in caring for our needy, spiritually and temporally! May we pray for opportunities to LOVE and SERVE others! Love, Tammy
